Quality of Offerings:30 Goals could be more clearly defined; objectives are measurable; would like to see more description of the art components of activities in the after-school programs, summer academy, and spring break camp Would have been informative to know the collaborations and partners for the programs covered in the grant cycle Impact: 28 Impact numbers indicate that 3 times as many adults than children will be engaged in these programs. Impact section indicates that 2000 will be engaged through media but engagement not described. In the additional impact section, it states that 2000 will be engaged through social media posts. People reading posts about programs, is not the same as engaging with the programming. Descriptive demographics Application would be stronger if the 4000 outreach students described in the Proposal Impact section were included in the Impact – Reach section Good use of target marketing Application would be strengthened with Accessibility Compliance officer were to complete the Section 504 Self Evaluation Workbook It would be informative to know the diversity demographic of the organizations Board of Directors Track Record: 28 Sound financial condition 24% of the operating budget is in Remaining Operating Expenses, it would be useful to have the larger expenses in this line item identified After reading the application, I understand the mission of the organization and the outcomes, but I don’t have a clear understanding of the activities that lead to these outcomes. More description of the actual art activities that result in the outcomes would be very beneficial I recommend that you review the sample grant applications found on the DOS website help improve your future scores |

The rubric to measure creative thinking skills is a great evaluation tool. More programs should be using this kind of evaluation in their programming. Is the Foundation School established as a charter school? Support materials beyond PR coverage would be more beneficial to the application. Suggestions include sample completed rubrics or evaluations, curriculum descriptions. |
